Vange

A southern residential district of Basildon with the historic All Saints church, the Kingswood estate and the RSPB Vange Marshes.

Vange is a district in the south of Basildon, between the town centre and the A13, running down towards the estuary marshes. Another of the old villages absorbed into the New Town, Vange retains its ancient parish church of All Saints, one of the oldest buildings in the borough.

Today Vange is largely residential, taking in estates such as Kingswood, with local shops and services along the main roads. The Vange Marshes, managed as an RSPB nature reserve on the southern edge of the district, form part of the important wetland habitat along the north bank of the Thames.

Vange sits close to both Basildon town centre and Pitsea, with good road links via the A13 and A176.
